We are continuing to play holiday dress up. This week, our inspiration are a couple of amazing editorials from Harper’s Bazaar Arabia and Vogue Russia.
THE LADY
Dana by Susanne Spiel for Harper’s Bazaar Arabia (October 2010)
From Net-a-Porter: DAY BIRGER ET MIKKELSEN dress; JUDITH LEIBER clutch; STELLA MCCARTNEY pumps
From Sophie's Closet: JENNIFER BEHR crystal and silk headwrap (AED 1100); JOOMI LIM mini "Bijoux" ring (AED 350); SIMAN TU smoky quartz chandelier earrings (AED 1430); CC SKYE "Gigi" ring (AED 750)
We adore this Old Hollywood look. It evokes memories of extremely polished actresses like Jean Harlow and Grace Kelly at their most glamorous. There is nothing classier than a little black dress and lace adds some extra sexiness to it. Instead of a veil (who wears those these days?) we paired it with a very glam Jennifer Behr headwrap and the, always phenomenal, Siman Tu black chandelier earrings. We also love how this model is wearing not one but two chunky statement rings! We would chose a very feminine and sparkly Joomi Lim on one hand, and a classic but a little tougher CC Skye ring on the other.
FEMME FATALE
Anja Rubik by Sølve Sundsbø for Vogue Russia (November 2010)
From Net-a-Porter: NOTTE BY MARCHESA dress; CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN pumps; STELLA MCCARTNEY clutch
From Sophie's Closet: LISA FREEDE Swarovski bracelet (AED 570); CC SKYE pave spike ring (AED 750); KENNETH JAY LANE crystal cluster earrings (AED 300)
Lady in red always gets the attention. Only the most confident of women can do a little red dress justice. Pair it with killer red lipstick to match, sky high stiletto pumps and, of course, some sparkly jewellery. Here we paired a red Marchesa one-shoulder dress with a some of our best sparkly pieces like the gorgeous Kenneth Jay Lane cluster crystal earrings, a delicate Lisa Freede bracelet and a glamorous, but a little dangerous, CC Skye spike ring.
Next week we have a couple of more looks to get you all ready for the holiday season. Head to www.shopatsophiescloset.com to begin your shopping.
